Christmas at Ankur was celebrated with joy and merriment. Children decorated the tree with trinkets and twinkling stars that they had made themselves. Santa with his bag of gifts , was welcomed with “Jingle Bells” and other Christmas songs. The day ended with wishes to each other for a Happy New Year.

Children painted colourful Diyas in anticipation of Diwali,following which was  a lively discussion about safety while burning crackers.

Ankur celebrated the Birthday of Dr.Maria Montessori in advance along with Eid.Dr.Maria Montessori’s birthday falls on August 31st.

The children were told the story of Dr.Maria Montessori and how the wonderful material that they use in their learning environment came into being.Later, they got together to adorn the picture of Dr.Maria Montessori with flowers and lovely paintings.

The same spirit continued with the Eid celebrations where some parents told the children about how Eid is celebrated.There were lots of delicious sweets to add to the joyous events of the day.

Ankur children celebrated Friendship Day on 8th August 2011.They had a great time choosing the material and making their own Friendship Bands.
